In the last post we talked about some of Microsoft technology for locating users.
As you can see, we use Microsoft Virtual Earth maps for MapVisitors.
However, we couldn’t use their geocoder because it runs on the client side in Javascript, and I couldn’t figure out how that would work with our architecture, because we only want the client to load an image and not push javascrpt down to the client. Eventually Jon will figure out a way! Maybe it is possible to run the Javascript on the server side and spoof the client IP address.
